Our Story

Where Passion for Golf Meets Cyber Security Expertise

After more than 17 years running a successful managed IT service provider (MSP) supporting schools and businesses across the UK, our founder Phil began to see a clear shift: cyber security had become one of the biggest challenges facing every organisation.

But in the world of golf, the challenge was even greater.

Golf clubs were holding the same sensitive data as any business — member details, booking systems, payments, financial records — yet they rarely had the time, resources, or in-house expertise to keep up with modern cyber threats. Managers and committees were being asked to shoulder responsibilities they were never trained for.

That’s when LinksGuard was born.

By combining decades of IT and cyber security experience with a lifelong passion for the game, LinksGuard was built to give golf clubs the protection and clarity they’ve been missing. Our purpose is simple: to help clubs safeguard their members, their operations, and the traditions that make the game special.

As a long-time competitive golfer and former committee and board member, Phil understands exactly how clubs work — the people involved, the pressures behind the scenes, and the pride that comes with running a club well.
